I made this pie homemade Roasted Peppers baked for friends of January meal. love the empanadas and this year I decided to make a homemade dough is very simple to prepare and that gives a completely different touch to the pie.

The mass is the same as we have done other times but this time we will see how to roast peppers at home because they leave much more good than the canned and you get the satisfaction of preparing them for you. Also use them to pies, for (as typical with the fish fried here in Malaga) peppers salad, tuna sandwich (my favorites when we go to Sierra Nevada) and lots of recipes.

A background of Cabinet that would say the fashions and that to us we will come great. When at home I have a pepper that is always a slightly damaged aso in the oven and it seems that it recovers its strength.

For dough

  • 50 g water
  • 50 g extra virgin olive oil
  • 45 g of white wine
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 35 g of fresh yeast bakery
  • 500 g of flour strength
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg to paint

For the filling:

  • 2 cans tomato paste (I use tomato Mutti because I love)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 4 basil leaves
  • 3 red peppers
  • a splash of oil
  • 2 onions
  • 400 tuna in olive oil, well drained

Roast the peppers. So preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Brush the peppers with oil and put them on a baking tray. Lower the temperature of the oven to 180 degrees and bake for 50 minutes.

After this time, remove the peppers from the oven and wrap them well in foil aluminium. I leave you in the same tray but well covered while some air. Thus the pepper sweat with residual heat and skin comes off like magic. Then just pull it and the pepper is no skin perfect to take.

While we have the peppers in the oven to prepare the tomato sauce. Put 3 tablespoons of oil in a floor pan. Add a clove of minced garlic and Brown over medium heat. Add the crushed tomatoes and cover. Let Cook for at least 20 minutes. After this time, add half a teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of salt. Move and add the Basil. Continue to sauté for 10 minutes more until the sauce is well locked.

While the tomatoes are frying slowly, chop the onion and sauté with a little oil in a pan over low heat.

Ready the three ingredients of the sprout, in a medium bowl mix the tomatoes with the onions. Chop the peppers and add to the mixture.

Now prepare the dough. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C

In a glass tempering water. Crumble the yeast in it and book.

In a large bowl put the white wine, oil and butter and heat 20 seconds into the MIC. Add the salt, flour, egg and water with the yeast and mix until a smooth and soft dough. We can do it in the thermomix, in a hand with attachment of kneading mixera electric mixer with dough mixer or with the hands.

When we have an elastic mass and even divide the dough into two parts and roll stretch them on a paper of baking.

Once stretched the dough, put one of the base on a plate of oven. Although I made this pie by layers so that when cutting the letters only orange-red color of the peppers is coming, it is better to do it by joining all the ingredients.

To do this in a bowl put the tomato sauce, chopped peppers and fried onions and mix well.

Once all together, let's go over the mass we have stretched in kiln square.

We put the other dough stretched over the filling. I wanted to make a nod to Valentine so stretched once the layer of coverage, with the help of a few cutters wrote my message. Then I covered the pie taking care of that for the holes of the letters the red peppers would be well.

We closed edges by pinching the lower part of the top with and tightening with the help of a fork. When ready, paint with beaten egg and hornearemos at 200 degrees for about 20-25 minutes until pie is golden.
