This naan filled with meat and cheese curry is one of my favorite breads. Because it does not require kneading or slow resting and because it is very easy to prepare.

It's delicious alone, but filled it's another level. You can use your favorite cheese and fill it with vegetables, chicken or whatever you prefer, but it's tremendous anyway. I hope you like it as much as we do.

For the bread dough:

  • 200 g wheat flour
  • 3.5 g of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon royal baking powder
  • 100 ml of water
  • 15 g unsalted butter or olive oil
  • 8 g honey

For rice

  • 1 glass of basmati rice well washed
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 pinch of salt

For the meat:

  • 500 g minced meat *
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder or curry paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder or Tabasco
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons fried tomato sauce

For the muffins

  • 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil or butter to fry the rolls
  • melted butter to paint them
  • chopped cilantro

Directions

To make the bread dough, place the flour, salt, honey, butter and water in a bowl. We knead for 10-12 minutes until we obtain a homogeneous dough. We cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Now we prepare the meat. Sauté the garlic and onion and when they are soft, add the chopped pepper. Let's cook for a few minutes and add the meat and spices. We stir a few times and add the fried tomato. We adjust the salt and reserve.

We divide the dough into 8 equal portions of about 100 g each and form each one into balls.

With the help of a rolling pin, spread the dough on the lightly floured surface, forming a circle. We put a slice of cheese in one half of the circle and cover with minced meat. We cover again with cheese.

Lightly moisten the edges with water and fold the dough, pressing the edges firmly to form a kind of dumpling. We reserve on a sheet of baking paper.

Heat a heavy-bottomed frying pan with a little butter. Fry the buns over medium heat until they are golden brown and cooked well on both sides. We paint with melted butter.

We serve with a little rice and avocado, add fresh chopped cilantro and enjoy!

Tips and Tricks

  • You can use whatever meat you want and you can also replace the meat with vegetables.
  • Don't roll out the dough too thin. If the dough is very thin, it will break easily when filling the loaves.
  • Press the edges of the dough well before cooking the rolls.
  • Preferably, serve them hot. This way, the meat will stay juicy and the cheese will be well melted.
  • Preparation time: 45 minutes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Servings: 8 dumplings
