Cambridge: the most desired University City

The future has many names. For the weak is the unattainable. For the fearful, the unknown. For the brave is the opportunity

Cambridge, for many reasons, is a city that fascinates me. Know it well and as always impressed by their former Colleges (Colleges), institutions beyond the residences and halls, forming the Holy and his famous trademark University, and therefore, of all cambridge (meaning Bridge over the River Cam). Since it was founded back in the thirteenth century, it has not ceased to be a reference for the city itself and the rest of the world. The traditional ceremonies they are colorful badges from each of the schools in the form of colors, bands and shields.

Of the 31 Colleges that make up the university life This small city compared with others (more than a hundred thousand inhabitants), almost all can be visited (if allow you). St. John´s College It was founded in 1.511 by the mother of the King, Martarita Beaufort, moving quickly to highlight at the University to become today, with over five hundred years of history, the third largest University with 534 career students more 340 graduate. All of them are protected by so-called professors "fellows" that follow the year in each of its powers.

Classic architecture, from the rich entrance portico with the symbols of the mother of the King, to the fourth building located in "The backs" (the rear overlooking the River Cam) is one enjoyed their visit. Composed of different landscaped courtyards of immaculate Green where they are grouped buildings (called "courts"), with its ancient library, rich bridges, its famous and impressive dining rooms, the illuminated chapels by the windows and new complementary buildings, make up along the inside of their walls oozing history, elegance and distinction on all four sides.

Among the constructive elements that is striking, the call is Bridge of Sighs, on the River Cam, that stands out most snapshots photographed tourists doing punting (the delightful walk by boat across the river driving is with the stick). It serves to unite the third with the fourth "court", but it takes its name from the situated in Venice.

Among its rooms have gone nine awards nobel six Prime Ministers in several countries, but certainly I prefer the magic of its vast expanses of flawless lawns and red brick to form the robustness of the decent facades of all buildings. Without a doubt is the classical view and bucolic of the spirit University, but more in form than ever to continue on the head of the elite knowledge.
