Petersburgo, the Venice of the North

The trip that runs through the Baltic capitals should be mandatory for all schoolchildren to study history. Few routes through as much biographical sketch, so much culture and so many different geography. All of them, there is one that stands out by its grandeur and its history: I speak of San Petersburgo, the former Leningrad, formerly Petrograd and also known as the Venice of the North... one of them. This Russian capital located in the District of Northwest, in the Leningrad Region is, with more than five million inhabitants, one of the cities with more historical events of Russia.

Petersburgo was founded in 1703 by Peter the great and turned it into the capital of the Russian Empire over more than two centuries its Center is considered world heritage by the UNESCO and certainly worth a leisurely visit. The first impression that I carry when I Petersburgo was the living in a city imperial, but clearly influenced by the former Communist regime: avenues giants of the many lanes in which it is difficult to get a sense of atmosphere of bustle, which gives the city a cold appearance. Even so, it is a beautiful place full of art and stories to tell

In addition to foot, my recommendation to move you from one side to another in large cities like Petersburgo if you're little time and want it to see in panoramic way, is with the tour bus. We will leave for another occasion the Hermitage, one of the most important museums of the judged and the best of Petersburgo, and I focus on one of the corners that I liked most about the city: the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. Very close of the Church, is the most famous Avenue of the city, which is the Nevsky Prospectmain artery of Petersburgo and one of the streets with more history of the world. In addition, pioneered the idea of a commercial boulevard-centro along with Paris.
